Delhi police arrest builder for cheating on former cricketer Chetan Sharma and 12 others
Delhi police have arrested a builder in Mehrauli for allegedly duping 13 people, including former Indian cricketer Chetan Sharma.

Delhi Police’s Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) has arrested a builder for allegedly duping 13 people, including former Indian cricketer Chetan Sharma.
Police say the accused Sameesh Chawla, 53, is a resident of Mehrauli in Delhi. He was arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by a certain Monika Khattar against him and his accomplices, including his wife Seema Chawla and his father Ramesh Kumar Chawla.
Sameesh Chawla allegedly tricked the plaintiff and 12 others into promising them a high rate of return on investment for the year 2017. According to EOW, the victims were cheated to the tune of Rs. 1.34 crore.
The investigation revealed that Samesh Chawla and his family members used to entice and entice victims residing in their neighborhood to invest with them under the guise of a higher return. The cheated amount was received in cash as well as through banking channels.
Initially, the defendants gave them regular feedback for a short period to gain their trust. After taking the amount, they did not pay the principal amount or any return.
